I am tired of owning property that gives me so much expense owing only to the efforts of others to run it down

One year's lease, after repairs of over 50.00Editorial Note: $50.00 in 1885 is the equivalent of $1,317.82 in 2019., is poor profits in prospect.

I have been told by one of our largest Real Estate Agents -- my place is cheap at $6000Editorial Note: $6,000 in 1885 is the equivalent of $158,138.66 in 2019. Have concluded to let you [?] Unclear or illegible  Up at auction with [?] Unclear or illegible  This to prevent too great a sacrifice If you are offered $5000Editorial Note: $5,000 in 1885 is the equivalent of $131,782.22 in 2019. for the place bid it off, if you think it advisable to let it go some cheaper do it.
