Your letterEditorial Note: See L16172. was duly received. Was not aware that I owed you one but will now make a wholesale effort to pay my debts. With reference to your question how I succeeded with my patient I may say that I recommenced treating him and continued until three weeks or more ago when not believing that he was recovering he concluded to go to BostonEditorial Note: Boston, Massachusetts for a trip and call on Mrs. Eddy. Said he would drop me a postal when he returned- For some reason he did not go & I have not had a chance to speak to him on the subject since.

I was astounded at the information in regard to Mrs. Rice & Howard, also Miss Rawson, the others I did not know.

What can it mean?

I had thought very favorably of both & am very sorry indeed, still if it be a question of mesmerism truth ought to win them back.

The first accusation I feel confident could not be sustained nor the second to any culpable degree as far as I can judge and the "appearance of hypocrisy" ought surely to be proven before construed into a charge.

You have my sympathies as I recollect with pleasure the times spent with the author of "Science & Health"Editorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy and her nearest earth friend. There is one thing which I have often thought, that is, that the teacher of christian healing ought to demonstrate at least one cure before each class when subjects could be available. Persons have often asked me did you see any instances of cure actually performed? I had a kind note from Dr Todd last week and also a letter from Buswell who seems to be doing well as usual

Yours As Written: Yous in truth
J. Ackland

This is my busiest time in printing.

I found 2 or 3 little tool articles of yours after I sent the chest. they were among my printing "furniture." Will be taken care of, J,a,

Please let me know if you did not receive a notice from EditorAs Written:Ed- of Herald of Health in reference to "Science & HealthEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, A.
