My Sister in Omaha NebraskaAs Written:Neb. has sent me your Address. so I can write you about my little girl. I will tell you about her disease & if you can help her & if it is necessary As Written: nessessary for you to see her? if so when to come; She is 5 year old last JanuaryAs Written:Jan, two years ago last month we noticed her hands & feet swollenAs Written:swolen & she could not bend them without hurting her, the swelling As Written: sweling went down, but they were hard & some stiff the left ankle & knee have become very stiff & does not grow the flesh As Written: fesh from big toe on the inside of foot up the top of bone on her leg & knee is dried on hard to the bone it has progressed slowly till this calloused As Written: calised flesh has reached the hip on inside of limb the flesh is really As Written: realy on hard part of foot, does not complain of pain, but has pain in her other limb & arms like Rheumatism As Written: Rhumatism at times, she seems well except quite nervous sometimesAs Written:some times & says As Written: sayes she is tired cries out several times in the night & is glad when morn’ comes. seems to be feverish & wants to get up, we have had several Dr.'s one calls it a form of RheumatismAs Written:Rhu, another thought she had a shock of Paralysis because it withers. her hands seem to trouble her much now, can’t use where any strength is required, one Dr. calls it " Inflammation As Written: Inflimation of poreostriune" the disease surely affects As Written: afects her all over & it seems as if it was inflammation As Written: inflimation & nothing has reached her case to help her yet her leg is one inch shorter now. I do not expect that to grow to catch up but if she could have the limb start to grow now, the disease stoppedAs Written:stoped. I have other children a baby no I cannot come with her. but if you want to see her. her Father could come & I think can go from here & return the same day, Please Excuse length, & write me soon
