May I trouble you so far, as to ask the names of two or three Christian Scientists that you can especially recommend? My Mother, who has had a long, weary siege from a complication of troubles, has been most anxious to see you, especially, and it is a great disappointment to her to know that this will be impossible, since we have recently learned that you receive no patients. But she seems to think that if she cannot see you, that at least she would like to know of someoneAs Written:some one that you consider particularly gifted.

I know that it is against your rules to recommend any especial one person, but will you not kindly swerve from the path just so far as to specify two or three, here or in New YorkAs Written:New-York? We have a copy of your Journal, but Mamma seems to feel that she can "pin her faith" to no one, without your especial recommendation.

If you are not too much occupied, may I hope for a speedy reply?

Very truly yours,
Julia Hazard Thomas,
