Editorial Title: Silas J. Sawyer to Mary Baker Eddy, February 9, 1884
Author: Silas J. Sawyer
Recipient: Mary Baker Eddy
Date: February 9, 1884
Manuscript Description: Handwritten by Silas J. Sawyer on lined paper from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Editorial Note: Sawyer begins by telling Mary Baker Eddy that her letter of February 6, 1884 (not extant), mailed by Albert B. Dorman, has given him much pleasure and help. He writes about closing his dental practice, the patients he has as a Christian Science healer, and whether or not he is yet ready to teach classes in Christian Science. He feels he would benefit from more instruction from Eddy than he previously had. He mentions the successful Christian Science practice of his wife, Jennie E. Sawyer. He also discusses the readiness of Fannie M. Silsbee to study with Eddy, as well as commenting on other students of Christian Science in the area, such as Roger Sherman, C. F. Morrill, Sarah F. Bickford, Mattie Williams and Mary D. Fuller. He also mentions an enclosed letter for Frye (237aP1.38.019).
